Pairing Outrider Sensors to Your Garmin
Install the Outrider Components data field to your Garmin device.
1. On the ConnectIQ store, search for "Outrider Tire Pressure Datafield"
and download the data field.

2. Sync your Garmin device with your phone to download the data field to your device.
3. On your Garmin device, navigate to Settings>Activity Profiles>(your activity profile)>Data Screens.
4. Select the Data Screen you would like to put the data field on.
5. Navigate to Layout and Data Fields and select the data field to replace.
6. Select the Outrider Components data field from Connect IQ>Outrider Tire Pressure Datafield.
7. Select Done
8. To edit settings for the data field, go to the ConnectIQ store on your phone and select your device.
Next, select "My Data Fields" and choose the Outrider field. If the data field is installed correctly, you will see a "Settings" button on the following screen.
In the settings menu, you can change pressure units from PSI, BAR, or kPa. You can also change the display mode. *Recently, "Light" mode was updated to dynamically switch to a dark display at night. There are two sensor communication modes, which are explained in more detail below.
Hit "Save" when finished editing the settings to send them to your device.
Communications mode: Direct BLE vs Bridge Mode
Outrider TL Sensors communicate exclusively via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). By default, the Outrider Tire Pressure Datafield will find and connect to the nearest front and rear sensors automatically. We recognize Garmin head units are limited to holding 3 BLE connections simultaneously, which can create a limitation for users with other BLE enabled-sensors. Because of this, we created Bridge Mode, which helps to free up 2 of those connections.
Direct BLE
The default method is Direct BLE, which will connect your Garmin directly to your Outrider sensors via Bluetooth. An important note: this method will connect to the first Outrider it discovers with adequate signal strength, so make sure there are no other active Outriders nearby when starting an activity. Make sure the Outrider is not connected to any other device (like your phone) at this time. Once the connection has been established, pressure data will appear on the screen.
If you ride without a phone or seldom use the Outrider mobile app, this method is preferred.
Bridge Mode
The Phone App Bridge method uses the Outrider mobile app as an intermediary for data between the Outrider sensors and Garmin data field. To use this method, make sure Bridge Mode is enabled in the mobile app settings, and that you have selected a Garmin device in the section below. *If you are having issues getting data to appear on the Garmin, first try re-selecting your device from the menu below.
While the mobile app is running (even in the background), it will attempt to send pressure data from the active bike profile to the Garmin data field. Once received, the Garmin data field will display the data during an activity. This method allows you to keep the Outriders connected to your phone while riding, but can introduce a slight delay compared to direct BLE.
If using multiple profiles, Bridge Mode will mirror the profile you are currently looking at in the app.
If you frequently use the Outrider mobile app for set up, this method is preferred.
**Sometimes, updates to data field settings can fail to sync with the Garmin device. For reassurance, the data field will display "-.--" when in Direct BLE, and "--.-" when in Bridge Mode.
Device Capabilities
Some Garmin devices have limitations connecting to custom BLE sensors, and can only use the Phone App Bridge method. Below is a list of Garmin devices compatible with the Outrider Tire Pressure Datafield and what data methods they support.
